About

Welcome to FatGuyEats.com,

Whether you want to admit it or not, secretly we all have that fat guy (or girl! (that may get me in trouble)) inside of us that really loves good food.  Seriously… who doesn’t love good food??  I wanted to do this blog to share my passion for food with you and the rest of the world.  If you like this blog, then you can thank my wife.  She has been encouraging me to do my own food blog for some time now.  I woke up this morning and decided to finally take her advice.

So let’s establish one thing before we move on, I like to eat and because you are here reading this, I will assume that you do too.  If not, you may leave now.

Still here?

Ok, glad you stuck around.  So yeah, as you can already see, I will be reviewing food of all kinds from many different places.  I’ll tell you what my favorites are and where you can find them.  If I have a bad experience, I’ll tell you which places to avoid.  We’ll talk about cooking at home, where I’ll show you what I’ve learned over the years and what I’m researching so I can teach myself new things.

Give a fat guy a fish and he’ll say, “What’s this?”

Show that fat guy how to catch and cook that fish and you’ll feed him until he gets tired of eating fish… or something like that.

We’ll be talking about my favorite things.  I’ll share my tips and tricks and hopefully we can learn from each other.  Feel free to drop some comments at the end of the posts.  If you know good restaurant that I should be going to, then tell me about it!

Email me at fatguyeats@gmail.com

My wife will probably contribute the blog at some point.  She will quickly tell you that she is the baker and I am the chef.  My nephew will also join me in new and exciting endeavors of manly eating.  And we’ll probably have some guest bloggers come along the way.  So, thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the journey!

Stay hungry my friends!

I encourage you to try the fries and pork tenderloin (fried) sandwich at the Igloo on Veteran’s Highway. Hubby and I are both “foodies” and Igloo is our vote for best fries in Lafayette. I think there is a light batter on them. They are super crisp and have lots of flavor. Wash it all down with a custard shake and you will feel extremely guilty (with a smile on your face) the rest of the evening. Ask Jennifer if you want to do a double date with us at the Igloo.

  2. Most definitely! That sounds like fun. We’ve only had the frozen custard from there, so we will have to go soon!
