DT Kirby’s

605 Main Street, Lafayette, Indiana – DT Kirby’s

First things first, I think I just ate the best sandwich that I have ever had.  (words I’ve never spoken before)  It was perfect in every way.  So much so, that I did not put it down until it was completely gone.  And as I write this, I have to admit that I’m still thinking about it two days later.  Yes, it was that good.  If you’re ready for your life to be changed, click the Read More link below.   (WARNING: Pictures Will Cause Excessive Drooling)

Buffalo Wild Wings – It’s All About the Sauces

West Lafayette, Indiana – Buffalo Wild Wings

Buffalo Wild Wings is the place my nephew and I meet on a weekly basis for lunch.  We’ve done this for years now and surprisingly neither of us seem to get tired of it very often.  There are times when we branch out and go somewhere else, but eventually we always come back.  You know it’s starting to get bad when the staff knows you and knows that you order almost the same exact thing every time you’re there.  So what keeps us coming back week after week?  Maybe it’s the atmosphere.  There are TV’s all over the place with nearly every sporting event or episode of Sports Center playing every direction that you look.

Fogo De Chao – Brazilian Steakhouse

Downtown Indianapolis… Fogo De Chao

Fogo De Chao is a very unique experience.  I will try to summarize as quickly and with as few words as possible.

MEAT!

Seriously, it a parade of meat that is delivered directly to your plate as soon as you flip over that little green card.  Let me explain.

Let me start off by saying that this was my second visit to Fogo.  So, I won’t be making any rookie mistakes today.  So as soon as you’re seated, you are invited to go sample the salad bar.  Now before you start to judge, I need to say that this isn’t your average salad bar.  Everything on it, including the salad is high quality and very well done.  There is a bowl of fried thick cut bacon for goodness sakes!  I will warn you not to be overtaken by the options on the salad bar.  The goal here is to put down a decent foundation before you begin to punish your stomach.

P.F. Chang’s China Bistro

PF Chang’s China Bistro – Indianapolis – Keystone at the Crossing and Downtown Locations

This is, without question, my favorite Chinese place.  Once you have had P.F. Changs, all of the rest of your chinese food experiences will never compare.  It will redefine the way you think about chinese food.

The first few times I had PF Changs, I would try different things on the menu.  The Orange Chicken and the Honey Chicken are very good, but once I tried their Kung Pao chicken, I’ve never looked back.  I think the picture says enough.

The dish is very savory and very spicy.  It is made fresh to order.  The chicken is tender and well seasoned.  The peanuts are crunchy and the red peppers are very hot but very good.  The bottom line… It will change your life.

Poblano’s Mexican Bar and Grill

Pablano’s Mexican Grill opened in West Lafayette this summer and soon became our favorite place for Mexican cuisine.  There are plenty of Mexican food options for Greater Lafayette and I think I’ve been to most of them.  That being said, in terms of food quality, Pablano’s has to rank as one of the best places we have available to us.

I went last week with my nephew for lunch.  Before talking about the food, I have to mention that the service was a little slow, so this may not be the best place to go to lunch if you’re under a time constraint.  It’s also worth mentioning that Poblano’s has been featured on Deal Chicken at least twice now, so keep an eye out for half price coupons.

Free Lunch Tuesday! – Camille’s Sidewalk Cafe

So I debated whether or not this was food blog worthy. Basically, the deciding factor came down to the fact that the lunch was free. And when does food taste best? That right, when it’s free.
